I can't leave ANY vehicle stock. So I bought some CHEAP items to "personalize" this budget XJ (aka daily driver). I guess the only thing I really bought for it was window tint, wow...10 bucks. High roller here baby! Now I did have some nice aluminum American Racing 5 spoke rims just laying around my monster garage and they might just get put on the "h"eep. Now they did cost a pretty penny in their newer days, but I consider that cost null for this vehicle. I bought a $20 motor mount that I thought had to be replaced. I was wrong. That motor mount didn't fix the problem. I picked up some sway-bar bushings tonight (Tuesday night, 1/10/06) which cost 10 bucks. So what that makes 40 bucks into it already? Not to bad. I'm planning on sticking my 15 inch audiobahn flame-Q sub in the back with my kenwood amps. I miss my system, but refuse to reinstall it in my truck due to space or lack there of. Oh shit, I also fixed the squeaky passenger door with a healty dose of WD-40. Good as new!!! Another upgrade/modification is going to be an oil filter relocation kit. Its in a VERY dumb spot and everytime I change the filter its going to be dumping oil down the frame, block and onto the suspension. I'm not dealing with that BS. So I'll spend 35 bucks plus the cost of a different type of filter JUST to make my life easier. More to come.....

Well I replaced the motor mount and it didn't fix the rattling noise. So i purchased another $20 motor mount and I'm going to replace the other side. IF that doesn't fix it, then I just don't freakin care!!! No... I'll just trouble shoot some more and figure it out. Usually I can find the problem, but I'm not acustom to this "H"eep. I don't know it inside and out "yet". Since the mounts are cheap I don't mind this "Oh just replace it" crap. more soon.....
(1/19/06) After class I was in the mood to work on the Heep a bit. The day before I had picked up some parts. I got another motor mount, a belt, some antifreeze, a gas strut for the rear door, a thermostat and gasket, and a cool high proformance cone air filter. (its really not cool or high performance, but it is a cone filter....) So I took a ride back to Dad's shop, with measurements in mind, and started rumaging through his plumbing selection and came up with some cool intake parts. So here are the pics of my custom cheapo intake. Also, look in the two pics to the right, the clean black parts are the motor mounts. The right one is a pic looking straight down...

(1/22/06) The jeep has two new motor mounts now. The rattling noise was still happening after the second mount was replaced. So on saturday night, after dinner at my sister's, my girlfriend Eileen and I went to work on the jeep. I jacked the one side of the jeep off the ground about 18inch because there wasn't enough room for me to work. I'm so used to my truck where you have to reach up to wrench on broken parts. With a large screw driver I started prying on the tranny mount to see if it was bad and it was. Eileen and I took out the X-member and the tranny mount came with it. NOTE: Everything was covered in oil and crap and guess who had gloves on.....me. I'm such a pussy. OR she's just badass. Anywho, we had to make a run to Advanced Auto for a tranny mount and possibly a cat. Instead of a 70 dollar cat, i just got a lenght of tubing to replace it. It doesn't have to be inspected till november or so.
